DAY 1: HANOI – MAI CHAU (-/L/D)
In the morning, you will depart for Hoa Binh. During the trip there, there will be stops along the way to take pictures of tea plantations and rice fields, as well as a stop to shop a unique village market. You will continue on to Mai Chau valley via traditional steps on going to Dien Bien Phu as well as visit the ethnic Thai villages. Lunch is served in an authentic house in the village. Your adventure is continued with a bike tour through the villages Van, Pomcong and Lat. During the tour, you will learn about the ethnic Thai people’s daily lives.
DAY 2: MAI CHAU – PU LUONG (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you will have free time to explore Mai Chau before going on to Pu Luong Retreat. Upon arriving, you will travel to a suspension bridge that overlooks the Cham River. Along your walk, you will be able to see fascinating water wheels. You will learn how water wheels work to bring water from the river to handmade aqueducts. You will return to Pu Luong Retreat for lunch.
In the afternoon you will travel down from your retreat into the valley. You will see beautiful rice terraces. Differing scenes of farmland, fields, villages, and flowing rivers can be seen as you walk. While walking to a gorgeous village established at the base of a tall mountain, you will be able to take pictures of the photogenic surroundings.

DAY 3: PU LUONG – NINH BINH (B/L/-)
After breakfast, you will travel to Ninh Binh. Along the way, there will be a stop to visit the Citadel of the Ho Dynasty. The citadel is recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage. It is thought to be the single remaining stone citadel in Southeast Asia as well as one of the last in the world.
During the travel to Ninh Binh you will also see expansive pineapple plantations surrounded by beautiful surroundings. You will arrive in the afternoon for lunch in a restaurant.
Following lunch, a bike tour will take you through villages and scenic views to Thung Nam. Then you will travel through three caves via boat. Inside the third cave, there is a large stone shaped like a long Buddha. It is said to bring good fortune.
After docking, there will be a brief walk to the Thien Ha Cave to continue the boat ride through a beautiful cave. Then you will travel back to the pier Thung Nham. You will travel back to Tam Coc by bicycle. You will eat dinner on your own and stay in Ninh Binh overnight.
DAY 4: NINH BINH – HALONG (B/L/D)
You will have breakfast before 7:30 then you will depart Ninh Binh for Halong Bay, nicknamed, “the Descending Dragon.” It is listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. It is a gorgeous, photogenic limestone archipelago stretching over 1500 square kilometers. The area also includes almost 2000 islands. Once you arrive, you will board a boat for a scenic cruise through the bay. Lunch is included on board the boat.
During the cruise, you will visit the Cave of Surprises. This cave has uniquely shaped stalactites in it. After docking at a nearby beach, you are able to go for a swim or climb to the top of Titop Island for a photogenic view of your surroundings. Dinner will be served on the boat that includes fresh local seafood. Other options are available. You will stay overnight on the junk.

DAY 5: HALONG – HANOI (B/L/-)
You will have breakfast on board then continue your cruise through Bai Tu Long Bay. After experiencing the wonders of Bai Tu Long Bay, you will disembark on your trip back to Hanoi or Noi Bai Airport to your next journey.
