Hanoi – Hoa Lu, Tam Coc – Bai Dinh pagoda – Van Long Floating Village.
Duration: 2 days 1 night.
Day 1: Hanoi – Hoa Lu – Tam Coc – Hang Mua (L, D)
In the morning, we’ll depart from Hanoi to Ninh Binh, a region characterized by a network of waterways and impressive limestone formations emerging from rice paddy fields in the marshy Red River delta. Our first stop is Hoa Lu, the Ancient Capital, where we’ll spend an hour exploring the Dinh and Le temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, founders of the ancient capital in the 10th century.
Upon arrival at your hotel, you can check in, take a rest, and enjoy lunch at a restaurant featuring local specialties.
In the afternoon, we’ll continue our journey to Tam Coc. You have the option to explore by bicycle or drive to the location. Once there, we’ll board a small sampan to explore Tam Coc, meaning “Three Caves.” With views reminiscent of Halong Bay, featuring majestic limestone cliffs, enchanting caves, and scenic countryside sights like peaceful streams, rice paddies, and deserted green fields, Tam Coc offers a diverse and captivating experience.
Next, we’ll head to Hang Mua, a place where you can immerse yourself in a stunning landscape of mountains, valleys, and rivers. Climbing hundreds of steps to reach a temple atop a hill, the panoramic views from Hang Mua overlooking Tam Coc and Ninh Binh’s breathtaking countryside are truly rewarding.
Conclude the day with dinner at a local restaurant and an overnight stay at a hotel in Ninh Binh.
Day 2: Bai Dinh pagoda – Van Long Floating Village – Hanoi (B, L)
Following breakfast, complete the check-out process at your hotel before heading to Bai Dinh Pagoda. Take some time to explore the Buddha Prayer area within Bai Dinh Pagoda, the largest pagoda in Vietnam. Marvel at the 500 La Han statues and the enormous bronze Buddha statue, standing at an impressive 10 meters in height and weighing 100 tons.
Next, proceed to Van Long floating village (wetland) for a delightful boat trip. Spend 2 hours rowing along the picturesque wetland of Van Long Natural Reserve, surrounded by stunning scenery, including rice paddies and towering limestone mountain peaks.
Indulge in lunch at a local restaurant, savoring some regional specialties.
In the late afternoon, we’ll drive back to Hanoi, and the tour will conclude at your hotel.
