Pu Luong Nature Reserve
Pu Luong Nature Reserve with spectacular landscape situated in the north of Vietnam.
Approximately 170 km from Hanoi, it has forests, spectacular rice terraces, waterfalls and breathtaking scenery. With two mountain ranges on each side of a lush green valley, the view is truly magnificent.
Ethnic Muong and Thai people live in small villages dotted throughout the area. You are sure of a warm ưelcomep from the villagers in their traditional houses built on stilts. The local culture is vibrant and authentic.
Pu Luong is an excellent destination for a few days of trekking and cycling through the forests and paddy fields, and visiting the beautiful small villages.
The ideal time to visit is during the rice harvest season, from September to November or February until May when the plantations are lush and the weather pleasant. However, the experience is genuinely memorable whatever the time of year.
Wake up early and catch the sunrise, climb up into the mountains above the mists and finally watch the sunset to end a perfect day.
We stay at the Pu Luong retreat, a homestay, which is a must do, staying either in the dorm room with others or one of the eight bungalows. Sit and admire the view or swim in the natural water swimming pool. Be back with nature and away from the tv, air conditioning and other modern must-haves and the noises of the city.
This trip indeed is an awe-inspiring experience.
